ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 31, 2004

SUPERCOMM, the world's largest annual all-inclusive exhibition and conference for communication service providers and private network managers, today announced an extensive package of IP-related conferences and exhibits at the 2004 event.

SUPERCOMM 2004, which is produced and managed by the Telecommunication Industry Association (TIA), will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago, June 20 - 24.

A major component of the IP-related programming will be the SIP Summit at SUPERCOMM presented by pulver.com, a leading IP communications innovator and industry authority. The Summit begins Monday, June 21, with a daylong SIP tutorial. Conferences, keynotes and breakout sessions will be offered Tuesday and Wednesday.

SIP Summit topics include Video and SIP, SIP and the Enterprise, SIP and Security, SIP Working Items Status at the IETF, and many other SIP-related issues.

"The SIP Summit will be the place to go if you need to understand the issues affecting the international Session Initiation Protocol industry," according to Jeff Pulver, CEO of pulver.com.

In addition to the SIP Summit, pulver.com will showcase FreeWorldDialup, a currently available system that allows subscribers to make free phone calls through any broadband connection using devices that follow Internet standards, and a SIPop! test lab for generally available interoperability tests.

The SIP Forum will also be presenting a SUPERDemo at SUPERCOMM 2004.

"There is tremendous industry interest in IP technologies and issues," said Jack Chalden, SUPERCOMM General Manager, "and that interest will be reflected in every aspect of SUPERCOMM."

For example, Chalden explained, IP in general and VoIP in particular rank near the top of the list of 63 solutions pre-registrants are coming to SUPERCOMM to see. Broadband systems is first, followed by VoIP and IP Telephony/Networks, he said.

Chalden added that SUPERCOMM exhibitors are also reflecting the growing importance of IP technologies. Specifically, he said, there are currently 59 exhibitors planning to show products in seven IP-related product categories.

In addition, SUPERCOMM 2004 will offer more than 50 conference sessions on IP technology and business issues. Free IP-related conference programs include five Industry Update Sessions, three EntNet panels, plus an SIP workshop, Plenary Panels. Keynote speeches. FCC Chairman Michael Powell and Commissioner Kevin Martin are expected to address VoIP regulatory issues in separate speeches at SUPERCOMM. In addition to the SIP Summit, IP-related paid education programs include ECC @ SUPERCOMM (VoIP and the Enterprise); IEC Communications Forums (5 sessions on VoIP); and a special half-day EntNet VoIP Tutorial.

SUPERCOMM is co-owned by TIA and the US Telecom Association.
